Opal Lametta (Tullis) Young
Funeral service for Opal Lametta Young, 90, of Cherokee were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the Cherokee First United Baptist Church with Reverend Tom Cooksey officiating. Burial followed in the Cherokee Municipal Cemetery under the direction of the Goodwin Funeral Home in Cherokee.
Opal was born on September 19, 1918 in Ingersoll, Oklahoma to Homer H. and Lena Holland Tullis. She departed this life on Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Cherokee Manor Nursing Home in Cherokee.
On August 8, 1935 she was united in marriage to Roy Young who preceded her in death on May 22, 1998.
Opal is survived by two sons and their wives, one daughter and her husband, eleven grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Opal’s name to the Cherokee Manor with the Goodwin Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
