Wanda Walz
September 25, 1943 - June 16, 2024
Wanda Fern Walz, 80, of Enid, Oklahoma, passed away on June 16, 2024, at Garland Road Nursing and Rehabilitation in Enid, Oklahoma. She was born on September 25, 1943 in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Egialton Coin (E.C.) and Alberta Fern Gabbert. On February 19, 1960 she gave birth to a daughter, Linda Marline.
She lived in Dallas, Texas, for several years and then while working for Walmart she lived in White City, Kansas, before moving to Alva, Oklahoma, to be with her family. In Alva she worked for Jiffy Trip and Mac's Liquor. She retired in 2016 and then moved to Enid, Oklahoma, to the Meadows Point Apartments. She was married to Charles Walz on March 14, 1992.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Walz in 2004, her parents, E.C. and Alberta Gabbert, sister Peggy Louise Gailey and her husband, John, and nephew, Jason Dooley.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Marline Toone of Alva, sister, Wilma Faye Nossaman of Enid, sister, Enid and husband Shawn McGuire of Chandler, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Sonya Bush of Hardtner, Kansas, Timothy Toone of Lawton, Oklahoma, Daniel Toone and girlfriend Dusty of Oklahoma City, and Samuel Toone of Oklahoma City, three great grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Wanda has been cremated at her request. Her wish is for her ashes to be buried beside her husband at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Complete cremation care is under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home, Enid.
