Robert L. Tyrrell, 80, Jet

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. May 11 at the Jet Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Dean Holt officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherokee Municipal Cemetery under the direction of the Goodwin Funeral Home.

Surviving are his wife, Juanita, of the home; one son, Robert C. Tyrrell of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter Jackie (Neva) James of Oklahoma City; one brother, James D. Tyrrell of Carmen; two sisters, Dorothy Romine of Ponca City and Doris Romine of Mooreland ; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Leonard and a sister, Lucille James.

The funeral for Juanita Geneva Tyrrell, 85, of Cherokee, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at Cherokee Friends Church. The Rev. Dean Holt will officiate. Burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Goodwin Funeral Home, Cherokee. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the family present from 6 - 7 p.m.

She was born Aug. 25, 1923, in Aline to James R. and Lora E. Hendrix Beckwith and died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at Share Medical Center, Alva.

She graduated from Aline High School in 1942. She married Robert L. Tyrrell Aug. 2, 1942, in Cherokee, where they made their home. He died May 8, 2002. She worked at a sewing factory and the election board for years. She was a member of Church of the Nazarene, Jet, but attended Friends Church, Cherokee.

Surviving are one son, Robert C. Tyrrell of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Neva Jackie James of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by three sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Church of the Nazarene, Jet.
