Jimmie K. Siler was born northeast of Cherokee on September 24, 1934, to Orville O. Siler and Luella Ruth Storey Siler, and passed from this life November 30, 2017. He attended rural schools and Cherokee Schools as a child. In September 1955 he married Ann Clepper. To this union two children were born: Jimmie Jr. and Luann. As a young man, he was employed by the Schoeb Ranch. After moving to Enid, he worked for Gold Spot Dairy for a short time. He then worked with his brother, Bob, at Siler Conoco. Returning to Cherokee, he purchased the Mobile Gas Station which he ran until he started farming. Along with custom harvesting, he also raised sheep with his son for many years. In 1976, he moved to Ingersoll and began preparing for his next profession. He opened Northwest Radiator Service in 1982. Jim gave of himself in many ways. He served his country being a member of the National Guard for eight years. He joined the Cherokee Corinthian Masonic Lodge 307 in 1981, and served as secretary of this lodge from 1998 until 2017. Jim was also a Charter Member of the Ringwood Masonic Lodge.
Jim was preceded in death by his son, Jimmie Jr. and his parents.
Jim is survived by his wife, Ann; daughter Luann; grandsons, Bryan and wife, Gretchen of Ringwood and Christopher and wife, Stacey of Cherokee; great-grandchildren, Alli King and husband, Dayton of Weatherford, Ethan, Matthias and Max of Ringwood, Jantz Kay of Cherokee and one great-great-granddaughter, Mila King of Weatherford.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Hospital, through the funeral home.
