Cherokee Municipal Cemetery
THEODORA RICKMAN
The funeral for Theodora "Dora" Elizabeth Rickman, 95, of Ellis, KS., formerly of Cherokee, OK., will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2005, at First Christian Church, Cherokee. The Rev. Ed Jones will officiate. Burial will be at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc., Cherokee, OK.
She was born Aug. 12, 1909, in Ogden, UT, to Swan and Anna Erika Jernell Peterson and died Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at Ellis Good Samaritan Center, Ellis, KS.
She grew up in Thermopolis, WY. and attended the University of Wyoming.
She married Henry Theodore "Ted" Rickman May 7, 1929, in Thermopolis. They moved to a farm northwest of Cherokee and lived there until she moved to Hays, KS. in 1991.
She was a member of Eastern Star and First Christian Church of Cherokee.
Surviving are three sons, Thomas Wayne of Oklahoma City, OK., Dr. William Dale of Hays, KS., and Dr. Michael Zane of Enid, OK.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, and one sister.
