BELVA A. PARKER
The funeral for Belva A. Parker, 93, of Enid, OK. formerly of Cherokee, OK., will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, in Goodwin Funeral Home Chapel, Cherokee. The Rev. Shorty Unruh will officiate. Burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Goodwin Funeral Home, Cherokee. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 7, 1912, in Capron, OK. to John Anthony and Cora Belle Ames Paye and died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at her home in Enid, OK.
She moved with her family to Buffalo,OK., graduated from high school and later attended Northwestern State College, Alva, OK.
She married Howard Franklin Parker April 29, 1934, in Cherokee. They operated Parker Hardware and Furniture Store for over 30 years, retiring in 1977. They later moved to Golden Oaks Retirement Village, Enid, OK. He died May 8, 2002.
She was a member of Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Oklahoma Historical Society and was past matron of Cherokee Order of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Alfalfa County Historical Society or Cherokee Fire Department.
