McPherson, Kansas - Funeral services for Ira F. Merrill , 70, who died March 12, 1990 will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Windom United Methodist Church in Windom, Kansas with the Rev. Eugene Slack officiating. Burial will be at 2 pm Thursday at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery directed by Ball and Son Funeral Home of McPherson.
He was born August 23, 1919 to Odis and Flossie Brewer Merrill in Liberal Kansas. He married Vesta E. Hilton on April 1, 1942 in Cherokee.
He was a retired auto mechanic and a member of the Windom United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife; two sons Jerry and Terry both of Lyons Kansas; Six brothers J.C. of Sand Springs, Hiram of Enid, Bob of Oklahoma City, Gene of Poway California, Don of Cherokee and Larry of Leedey; two sisters Gracie Haskins of Wakita and Delores Arnold of Cherokee ; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-granchildren.
Memorials may be made to the church or the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.

Flossie Ines Brewer was born April 13, 1903 and died June 24, 1960.
She was married to Odis Floyd Merrill and to this union was born 11 children: Ira Floyd Merrill, Elsie Merrill, J. C. Merrill, Gracie Merrill, Delores Merrill, Hiram Eli Merrill, Bobby Ray Merrill, Doyle Gene Merrill, Donald Roy Merrill, Larry Dean Merrill and Edith Marie Merrill.
