The funeral for Kevin Clyde Meng, 52, of Cherokee, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Goodwin Funeral Home Chapel, Cherokee. The Rev. Ken Keeling will officiate. Burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.

He was born May 10, 1953, in Harlingen, Texas, to Roger L. and Margaret Snyder Meng and died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Share Medical Center, Alva.

He grew up in Burlington and Cherokee where he lived with Garold and Marilyn Parker during high school. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1972.

He married Rosemary Morgan in Alva. They made their home in Cherokee. He worked for Northwestern State University, Alva, later earning a degree in computer technology. He also worked as a carpenter and attended Friends Church.

Surviving are one son, Jeremy Meng of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; one sister, Reva Horton of Broken Arrow; and his stepfather, Junior Pennock of Cherokee.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother.

Memorials may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
