Cherokee – Funeral services for O. F. (Mack) McNett, 82, who died Tuesday in a Cherokee hospital, will be at 11 AM Thursday in the Goodwin Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Will F. Chase will officiate and burial will be in the Cherokee Municipal Cemetery.
The body will lie in state until service time and the casket will not be opened afterward.
The family has suggested that those who wish make contributions in McNett's memory to the Alfalfa County Hospital.
McNett was born January 19, in 1900, in Kiowa, Kansas, and grew up in the Kiowa – Hardtner area. He and Pauline Hodgson were married October 27, 1941, at Wichita, Kansas. They established a home in Cherokee and he lived there until his death.
McNett served with the United States Air Force during World War I I, in the European Theater. He was later employed as parts manager for the Chrysler dealership in Cherokee until failing health forced his retirement.
McNett was a member of the Methodist Church and the American Legion.
In addition to his wife Pauline of the home, he is survived by a son Bethel of Hardtner, Kansas; four grandchildren and four great – grandchildren.
