ENID — Funeral for Geraldine Y. McMahan, 85, of Cherokee, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, at Cherokee United Methodist Church. Burial in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee. Viewing 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and before the service at the church.
Geraldine was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Cherokee to Roy and Edna Collings Riley and died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, in Cherokee.
Surviving are son, Kent McMahan, and two grandchildren, Megan McMahan and Curtis McMahan.
Preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie, and two brothers.

Funeral services for Johnnie McMahan, 63, were at 2 PM, Wednesday, December 6, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Jared and Don Loomis officiating. Burial was in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery directed by Hackney Funeral Home of Kingfisher. He died December 4, 1989, at Alfalfa County Hospital.
McMahan was born June 1, 1926, in Noble to Walter and Brilla McMahan. He married Geraldine Riley on February 21, 1947, in Anthony, Kansas.
He was a veteran of World War II. He retired from the Norman Police Department after 21 years of service and moved to Cherokee in 1975.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Kent of Cherokee; two brothers, Joe of Indiana and Howard of Norman; five sisters, Mary Lou Garling of Norman, Jane Summers of Cherokee, Fern McMahan of Noble, Ruth Gilley of Houston, Texas, and Doris Oliver of Cordell; two grandchildren, Curtis Blaine McMahan and Megan René McMahan of Cherokee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
