Services for Robert A. McIntire, 49, were at 2 PM Wednesday at the Friends Church with the Rev. Scott Hinshaw officiating, assisted by C.M. Wilson. Burial was in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery directed by Goodwin Funeral Home. McIntire died December 23 at his home.
He was born September 18, 1939, in Cherokee. He attended grade school in Lambert and graduated from Cherokee High School in 1956. He attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva.
He worked for Safeway stores before joining the National Guard, serving 19 years.
He was a member of the Friends Church, was an emergency medical technician and coordinated the Cherokee Ambulance Service. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association and worked with the Boy Scouts.
He is survived by one son, Jason of Freedom; his mother, Arilda Murphy of Bethany; one brother, Richard of Moore and a foster sister, Faye Ann Nussbaum of Conke, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Heart Fund.
