Cherokee Municipal Cemetery


The funeral for Lillian Belle Nossaman, 82, who died January 31, 1990, at Share Medical Center, Alva, was at 2 PM Monday at Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev.'s Glen Gerber and Marty Schmidt officiated. Burial was in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery directed by Goodwin Funeral Home.

She was born December 18, 1907, in Cherokee to William and Mary Belle Lasswell Garrison. She attended Cherokee schools, then taught school in the Jet area for two years. She married Claude McDonald on April 2, 1933, in Cherokee. She was employed by TG&Y Store for four years and worked at the Masonic Hospital for 12 years before it closed in 1979.

She married Ed Nossaman on March 23, 1979, in Cherokee. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Gary McDonald and Jim McDonald of Cherokee; one daughter, Darlene Fitzgerald of Florida; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Alzheimer's Research.
