March 10, 1927 - August 15, 2023
Marilyn Millspaugh Merett (96 years)
Ruth Marilyn Millspaugh was born in Cherokee, Oklahoma on March 10, 1927 to Franklin and Ruth Powell Millspaugh. She enjoyed a happy childhood growing up on the farm surrounded by a loving family. Marilyn graduated from Cherokee High School, then attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University for two years. There she met a handsome young veteran, Dallas Merett, and they married in 1947. The couple had three children and moved a lot as careers flourished: Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, Ohio, Louisana, Georgia, and they retired to their beloved Oklahoma. Marilyn was an avid bridge player, and enjoyed any sort of sewing and crafts, playing piano, and searching family histories for our family and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her brother, John Franklin, Jr. (1943); her father, Franklin Millspaugh (1956); her mother, Ruth Millspaugh (1961); her husband, Dallas Merett (2005), and too many friends and family to list.
She is survived by daughters, Ann Coleman (Mike) and Virginia Merett, and son, Ken Merett (Debra). They blessed her with six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
