Services for Eva P. Johnson, 77, were at 2:30 PM Sunday at the First Christian Church of Cherokee with the Rev. Eugene R. Spillman officiating. Burial was at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery, directed by Goodwin Funeral Home.
Johnson died Thursday at the Cherokee hospital after a brief illness. She was born February 8, 1909, in Cherokee to Eli and Dora Posey Leonard. She attended school in Plainview and Cherokee. She married Benton Johnson in Cherokee March 26, 1924.
She was employed at Smith Drug for several years and was a member of the Cherokee First Christian Church and the Cro–Tat–Em Club
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Treva) Bright, Cherokee; a sister, Mrs. Howard (Myrtle) Hatfield, Cherokee; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, five sisters and two brothers.
Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation heart division or the First Christian Church of Cherokee.
