Funeral services for Lucille Henderson, 83, who died April 19, 1993, at Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma City, will be at 10 AM Saturday at the Friends Church with the Rev. Randy Littlefield officiating. Burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery, directed by Goodwin Funeral Home.
She was born March 12, 1910, to William Watson and Eula Dean Reager Tullis on a farm near Capron. She attended rural schools and graduated from Ingersoll High School in 1927. She attended Northwestern State College and received a lifetime teacher's certificate. She taught in rural schools for two years and in Ingersoll for four years.
On April 17, 1938, she married Orlan Bates "Monk" Henderson in Perry. They lived in several towns before moving back to Cherokee in 1951. He died January 6, 1993. At the time of her death she was living in Oklahoma City with a daughter and family. She was a member of the Cherokee Friends Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. LaFranz (Nancy) Wimberly of Oklahoma City; two grandsons of Oklahoma City, and a sister, Dora Johnson of Hydro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and three sisters.
Memorials may be made to the church through the funeral home.
