Robert "Bob" Val Glynn, 90, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 26, 1926, on the family farm near Cherokee, to Henry and Margaret (Trotter) Glynn.

Robert graduated from Driftwood High School, Driftwood, in 1944. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1945. He was separated from the service in 1946 from Ft. Benning, GA. On October 30, 1948, he married Eva Lucille Lewis in Cherokee. Bob received his Bachelor's Degree in Soils from Oklahoma A & M in 1949. He went back to the family farm where he farmed until 1956. Bob returned to school at Northwestern Oklahoma State University and obtained a teaching certificate and taught at Alva High School. He then returned to school at Oklahoma State University to complete a Master's Degree in Chemistry. Bob taught high school sciences at Medicine Lodge High School while continuing to farm in the summers. He taught chemistry at Hutchinson Community College from 1968-1990. Bob had been a member of Park Place Christian Church since moving to Hutchinson.

Survivors include: sister, Elinor Kaul, of Kingston; sister-in-law, Bettie Hood, of Victorville, Calif.; sons, Mike Glynn and wife Betty of Scottsdale, Arizona; Bobby Glynn, of Hutchinson, Kan.; Timothy Cole and wife, Leah, of Edmond; Jimmy Cole, of Naples, Fla.; daughter, Regina Kimbrel and husband, Tom, of Marion, Kan.; grandchildren, Tim, KC, Jason, Courtney, Kayla, Nathan, Gretchen, Luke, Becca, Wade, Skye, Nicky, Marshall, Kelly, Jack; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Amber, Zoii, Debra, Paul, Josie, Emily, Levi, Landon, Cade, Aubrey, Ainsley, Lexi, Skyden, Aaron, Daxton and Dayton.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1949, his mother in 1994, and his wife, Lucille, in 2004.

Funeral service is 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at Park Place Christian Church, 2600 N. Adams, Hutchinson, Kan., with Pastor David Dubovich officiating, with military honors conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Friends may call 9 a.m.-5 p.m. today, Dec. 3, 2016, and 9 a.m.-9:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, with the family present 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, at Elliott Mortuary.

Graveside service is 3 p.m. at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery, Cherokee. Memorials may be made to the Robert Glynn Scholarship Fund at Hutchinson Community College or Park Place Christian Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
