Memorial services for Christie L. Fritz, 68, of Enid, will be April 26, 2017, at 2 p.m. in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, with Reverend Dr. John Toles officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Cherokee Cemetery, Cherokee, Oklahoma, under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Christie was born on April 28, 1948, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, to William and Harriett Duncan Smith and died on April 13, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family. She grew up in Cherokee and graduated from Cherokee High School in 1966. Christie received her Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from Oklahoma State University, where she was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority. On June 10, 1970, she married Walter Fritz at RAF Bentwaters England. Christie was a teacher and girls basketball and track coach at Coyle and Carrier Junior High Schools. She and her husband Wally opened The Cheese Shoppe in 1979, and they continued to operate the business until 1997. She was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, where she served on the Altar Guild. Christie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and a dear friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Hank and Tallena "Nanny" Duncan.

She is survived by her husband, Walter of the home; daughter and her husband, Tallena and Bryan Hart, Enid; two grandchildren, Morgan and Paige; brother, Bill Smith, Muskogee, OK; two sisters, Judy Smith, Olympia, WA, and Patria Hague, Cherokee; nieces and nephews.
