Cherokee Municipal Cemetery


The funeral for Blanche M. Forbes, 93, was at 2 PM Tuesday at Driftwood Christian Church with Pastor Chris Cassel officiating. Burial was in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery, directed by Fisher Funeral Home. She died March 4, 1994, at Cherokee Manor.

She was born February 2, 1901, in Cherokee to James H. And Jenny Millendar Millspaugh. She lived in Cherokee until she was 11. Then she moved to Guthrie where she lived until she married Porter F. Forbes on September 27, 1921. They made their home in Driftwood where she lived the rest of her life. He died May 2, 1987. She was a member of Driftwood Christian Church and the J.U.G. Club of Amorita.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou Martin of Cherokee; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Leon, a brother and a sister.

Memorials may be made to the church.
