CHEROKEE — Graveside service for Mary Dowdy will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2011, in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Rev. Tom Cooksey officiating. Viewing 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Cherokee. Condolences at www.lanmanmemorials.com.

Mary was born Oct. 7, 1927, to James and Alphia Woodward Dunn and died Wednesday, June 15, 2011.

Lived in Cherokee since 1983.

Survivors: sons and wives, Jimmy and Rhonda Graham, Terry and Sharon Dowdy and Gary and Ann Dowdy; daughters, Karen and Donnie Parker and Linda and Wes Lavicky; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Preceded: husband, Paul, two brothers and two sisters.

Services for Paul Dowdy, age 70 of Cherokee, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Cherokee Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home of Cherokee.

Paul Franklin Dowdy was born November 5, 1922 and died February 21, 1993. He had formerly lived in Jetmore and was a truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lola; sons, Terry of Alva, Okla., Gary of Amarillo, Texas, Jimmy Graham of Caruthersville, Ark.; daughters, Linda Lavicky, Karen Parker, both of Cherokee; brother, Forrest of Dade City, Fla.; sister, Lillian Boyd of California; 16 grandchildren.
