Wilma Jane Simmons
The funeral for Wilma Jane Simmons, 81, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, Amarillo , Texas. The Rev. G.A. Roach will officiate. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Carmen Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wentworth Mortuary LLC, Carmen.
She was born April 11, 1926, in Del Rio, Texas, to John and Ethel Barnett and died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, in Amarillo.
She married Corwin Simmons Nov. 11, 1944. She worked as a nurse aide at Bivins Nursing Home for 27 years.
Surviving are one daughter, Carolyn Arnold of Amarillo; two sons, Kenneth and John Simmons, both of Amarillo; one sister, Gladys Ethel Green of San Antonio; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Corwin, an infant son and three brothers.
