Funeral services for Carolyn Ann Green, 60, were at 10 a.m. Sept. 7, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church in Cherokee with Rev. Robert S. Duran officiating. Burial followed in the Carmen Cemetery under the direction of the Goodwin Funeral Home of Cherokee.
The casket was open at the church before the funeral service and remained closed afterwards.
Carolyn was born Sept. 23, 1951, in Alva, the daughter of Harold and Eva Snyder Rudy and passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, at her home in Lambert.
She attended grade school in Lambert and graduated from Cherokee High School in 1969. While attending Northwestern State University she sang in the choir.
After college she worked for the Home Appliance Company in Cherokee and later for Larry Hammer at the Cherokee Publishing Company, then moved on to Hammer-Williams Company.
She and Leland Green were married July 3, 1976, in Alva and established their home in Cherokee. As a couple, they went on mission trips to Old Mexico for 14 years where she put her cooking talent to use.
They ran the Corps of Engineers Federal Park in Columbus, Miss. for three and a half years.
In February 2010 they returned to Lambert where she was living at the time of her death.
She was an active member of the Cherokee Methodist Church and sang in the choir. She sang for funerals, was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and a former member of the Business & Professional Women’s Club.
She also helped with the Cherokee food pantry, and always knew what needed to be done. Her hobbies were cooking, camping and working jig-saw puzzles.
Surviving her are her husband, Leland of the home; her children, Shelley Gates and her husband Dennis of Caledonia, Miss. and Tammy Goodwin of Pocahontas, Ark.; one brother, Don Rudy and his wife Henrietta of Alva; two sisters, Janice Redden of Yukon, and Margaret Rudy of Wichita, Kan.; grandchildren, Kelsey Gates, Jared Gates, Joshua Gates, Kaleigh Stout and husband Michael, Whitney Goodwin and Ashlyn Goodwin; two great-grandchildren, Reid Stout and Brayden Goodwin; her extended family, Jacklyn Kolb and her husband Tim of Cherokee; Kandi Brown and husband Chris, MacKenzie and Lauren; Tyson Kolb and wife Krystal, Kynlee, Kaxton and Clayton Kolb. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew.
Memorials may be given in her memory to either the UMW or the Cherokee Food Pantry through Goodwin Funeral Home.

Leland Verle Green, 92, of Caledonia, Mississippi, passed from this life on July 25, 2019. Leland was born on July 2, 1927, in Carmen, Oklahoma, to Hugh and Mabel Green.
Leland served in the United States Army then worked as an insurance agent for Alfalfa County Farm Bureau for 25 years. He was president of the Cherokee Flying Club, served as president of the Chamber of Commerce, and was a member of the Lions Club. He also served as city councilmember and received the Citizen of the Year Award. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cherokee and was involved with the Volunteers in Mission. He traveled on several mission trips to Mexico. He was a father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Leland is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Mabel Green; his wife, Carolyn Green, and a sister, Donna Rose Ryel.
Leland is survived by a sister, Vereta (Max) McBride of Aline, and a brother, Vencil "Corky" (Loreta) Green of Carmen; two daughters, Shelley (Dennis) Gates of Caledonia, Mississippi, and Tammy (John) Belcher of Pocahontas, Arkansas; a son, James Leland Green of Henderson, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Kaleigh (Michael) Stout, Kelsey (Josh) Bailey, Josh Gates of Caledonia, Mississippi; Jared Gates of Huntsville, Alabama; Whitney (Blake) McClung, Ashlyn (Jared) Brown of Pocahontas, Arkansas; Kristin Belcher and Alan Belcher both of Biloxi, Mississippi; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and extended family, Tim and Jacklyn Kolb, Kandi Brown, Tyson and Krystal Kolb, Clayton Kolb and families.
Funeral service for Leland were held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Cherokee with burial following at Carmen Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc. of Cherokee. Online condolences may be made at http://www.lanmanmemorials.com.
