Carmen Cemetery


Carmen – James O. Ewbank, 83, died Saturday morning at a hospital in Kiowa, Kansas, after a lengthy illness. Services will be Monday at 2:30 PM, in the first Baptist Church of Carmen. Rev. Morris Cook will officiate.

Burial will be in the Carmen City Cemetery under the direction of the Wentworth Mortuary.

Ewbank was born March 14, 1902, on a farm west of Fairview. He attended school at Cedar Springs, west of Fairview. On April 24, 1923, he married Mabel Byfield. They lived in Enid and Fairview for a short time, but lived in Carmen for 59 years.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a past member of the Oddfellows Lodge.

Ewbank is survived by his wife, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Johnnie (Arzetta Pearl) Weber, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Edward (Betty Lue) Stewart, and Denna Mae Ewbank, both of Carmen; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Hanson and Mrs. Bessie McCaskey, Fairview; three grandchildren, and three great – grandchildren.
