ENID — Graveside memorial service for Maxine Harriett Duel will be 9 a.m. Sunday, April 17, 2011, in Carmen City Cemetery with immediate family only. Rev. Kirk Board officiating. She was cremated at her request under the direction of Wentworth Mortuary LLC, Carmen.
Maxine Harriett Duel, daughter of the late Robert A. Moser and Etta Mae (Whitworth) Moser, was born Jan. 18, 1920, on a farm southeast of Dacoma, Okla., and passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011, in Alva, Okla., at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 27 days.
Maxine graduated from Carmen High School and attended business school in Wichita.
On Jan. 2, 1942, she was united in marriage to Russell G. Duel in Sawyer, Kan. They lived in the Carmen area all of their life, where they engaged in farming, dairy and owned Aline Locker Plant. She also worked as a secretary for Wright Attorney Law Firm in Cherokee and was tag agent for many years.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; one son, Richard; one brother, Robert Moser; and one sister, Laverne Lakey.
Maxine is survived by two daughters, Pam Inman and husband Raymond of Dacoma and Shari Duel and Scott Nolting of Carmen; two grandsons, Justin Small and wife Miranda of Oklahoma City and Travis Small of Long Beach, N.Y; one great-granddaughter, Rylan Small of Oklahoma City; and other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Carmen First Responders, Ross Health Care or Share Hospice.
