Funeral Friday for Mrs. Cora Dawson

Funeral for Cora Ella Dawson, 85, will be held at 2 PM Friday in the Free Methodist Church in Carmen. Rev. Devor will officiate and burial will be in the city Cemetery under the direction of Wentworth Mortuary. Mrs. Dawson died February 13 in the Masonic hospital.

Cora Ella Dawson, daughter of Joseph and Rebekah Coup, was born July 31, 1871, in Ohio. The Dawson family came from St. John, Kansas, to Oklahoma in 1895 and settled on a claim southwest of Aline and in 1916 moved to Carmen. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Bessie Buckingham, Cherokee; two sons, Arthur of Alva and Master Sergeant Leslie Dawson, U.S. Army; one sister, Mrs. Mary Geisler, Carmen; 10 grandchildren and seven great – grandchildren.
