A graveside service for Louise Marie Curry, 89, will be 11 a.m. today, Aug. 19, 2008, in Carmen Cemetery. Arrangements are by McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang.
She was born Dec. 18, 1918, in Scot, La., to Clayus and Beulah Lebert and died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008. She lived in Alva for 51 years before moving to Mustang in 2002. She was a telephone operator during World War II while serving with the Army WACS. She also served as a French interpreter in Africa. She married her husband, Max, while in the Army. Following her return to the United States, she worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. She later attended nursing school and became an LPN. She was a long-time member of Assembly of God Church, Alva.
Surviving are two daughters, Nellwyn Selfridge of Charleroi, Pa., and Renee Wyckoff of Mustang; one sister, Juanita Lebert of Lafayette, La.; one brother, Lindy Lebert of Houston; four granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Sr., one son, and a grandson.
