CARMEN - The funeral for Eustice Leecon Crawford, 62, will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Green Valley Free Methodist Church, west of Carmen. The Army chaplin will officiate. Burial will follow in Carmen City Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wentworth Mortuary.
He was born Jan. 5, 1941, at Crescent to Lloyd and Fern Miller Crawford, and died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Integris Pavilion of Enid.
He was baptized at Enid Free Methodist Church and later attended Baptist and Assembly of God churches at Carmen.
He married Audrey Stewart McNally Feb. 7, 1972, at Garber. He enlisted in the Army at Fort Hood, Texas, and served at Fort Knox, Kentucky, France, Germany, Alaska, three tours of duty in Vietnam and then retired at Fort Sill as a staff sergeant Feb. 1, 1980. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with five service stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star, five Overseas Service bars, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal Fourth Award, Meritorious Service Medal and Expert (rifle M-16). They made their home in several places before moving to Edmond, spending the last two years at Carmen.
Surviving are his wife, Audrey, of the home; three step-sons, James McNally of Oklahoma City, Kenneth McNally of IRRI, Philippines, and Charles Jaynes of McKinney, Texas; one half-sister, Lloydesta Williams of Taca, Ariz.; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to PTSD for Veterans Hospital with the funeral home acting as custodian of the fund.
