Funeral services for Leland Eldon Beecher will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at the Carmen Christian Church with Rev. Kirk Board officiating. Interment will be in the Carmen City Cemetery under the direction of Wentworth Mortuary, LLC, Carmen.
Leland Eldon Beecher, son of the late Jesse Andrew and Lola Mildred (Board) Beecher, was born June 23, 1934, at Carmen and passed away November 7, 2010, at Enid at the age of 76 years, 4 months, and 14 days.
Eldon grew up and graduated high school in Carmen. He then attended one year at Northwestern Oklahoma State College. On June 30, 1956, he was united in marriage to Glenda Marie Sacket at the Carmen Christian Church. They made their home in Carmen and he worked for Alfalfa County for 30 years. Eldon was a member and elder of the Carmen Christian Church. He enjoyed working in his yard and gardening.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Rickey Lee Beecher, and his grandson, Gregory Robinson. Eldon is survived by his wife, Glenda, of Carmen, his son, Duane Beecher and friend, Barbara Norton, of Cleo Springs; his daughter, Shelly Robinson and husband, Randy, of Carmen; his granddaughter, Christa Boren and husband, Dale, Jr., of Norman; two great grandsons, Aidyn Allen and Randy Hudsyn Boren both of Norman; other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Carmen First Responders.
