Carrie G. Ayres, longtime resident and former teacher in the Rich Valley and Carmen schools, passed away April 27, 1999 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She was born August 7, 1910 in Lambert, Oklahoma. She retired after 37 years of teaching. She received her Bachelors Degree from Northwest University in Alva, Oklahoma and her Masters Degree from the University of Arkansas. Graduate studies toward Doctoral at University of Oklahoma.
She retired from the Tulsa school system and was Dean of girls in Tulsa at time of retirement.
Organizations: 50 years Eastern Star, National Retired Teachers Association, Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association, life member in Oklahoma Education Association, Tulsa Retired Teachers Association.
Her husband Lewis L. Ayers preceded her in death. Survived by son Carl Ayers and wife Lola Ayers of Oklahoma City, along with seven grandchildren and nine great – grandchildren. A brother Morris Grant of Enid, Oklahoma.
Services will be held at 11 AM today at First Christian Church of Moore in Moore, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held at 1 PM at the Carmen Cemetery in Carmen, Oklahoma.
