Byron & Amorita Cemetery


Byron – Funeral services for Mrs. Katie H. Thompson are scheduled for Monday at 2 PM in the Byron Christian Church with Rev. L. A. Digby and Rev. Dayle Schnelle officiating.

Mrs. Thompson died Friday afternoon in a Kiowa nursing home. She was 82 years old.

She was born May 29, 1887 in Morganfield, Kentucky. She moved to Hooker, Oklahoma, where she met Karl (Dick) Thompson. They were married January 10, 1910, in Hutchinson, Kansas. She was a member of Hooker Baptist Church.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1961 and a son preceded her in 1921. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Grace Settle and Mrs. Mildred Blevins, both of Byron; one sister, Mrs. Lula Murphy, Los Angeles, California; four granddaughters and four great – grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Byron – Amorita Cemetery and Parsons Funeral Home of Anthony is in charge of funeral arrangements.
