ROSALIE B. MORGAN
Burlington, OK. -- Funeral service for Rosalie B. Morgan will be Monday, August 22, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Driftwood Christian Church in Driftwood, OK. with Rev. Dave Atzenweiler and Rev. Rod Rieger officiating. Burial will follow at Byron & Amorita Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee, OK. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m.until 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:20 p.m. with the family being present from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Rosalie B. Ferrell was born on June 6, 1923 on a farm north of Burlington, OK. to Leon Ferrell and Maude Winans Ferrell and passed from this life on August 18, 2005 at Alva Share Hospital, Alva, OK. Rosalie went to Riverside Country School then graduated from Driftwood High School. She then went to business school in Enid, OK. and after business school she moved to Wichita, KS. and worked at Cessna Aircraft from 1942 until 1944. During the war Rosalie joined the Navy and was stationed in the Waves at Treasure Island in San Francisco, CA. When she returned home, she married Earl W. "Beany" Morgan on June 16, 1946. They lived south of Cherokee for a short time and then moved to the Driftwood area. She was a member of the Driftwood Christian Church and CWC. She taught Sunday School and served in other areas in the church wherever she was needed. She was a member of the Happy Day Club and FFA Mothers Club. Rosalie was a wife and mother first of all.
She is survived by three children, Randy Morgan and wife, Sparky of Burlington, OK., Terry Morgan and wife, Vickie of Burlington, OK. and Nick Brooks and wife, Barbara of Oklahoma City, OK.; one sister, Dolly Daniels of Cherokee, OK.; four brothers, Tom Ferrell of Kiowa, KS., Ted Ferrell of Wichita, KS., Henry Ferrell of Kiowa, KS., and Ben Ferrell of California; five grandchildren, Shane Morgan, Brock Morgan, Kelly and Ty Owen, Carrie and Clint Dotson and Derek Morgan; and one great-granddaughter, Hailey Dotson.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her parents; one son, John Morgan; three brothers, Bob Ferrell, Bill Ferrell; one sister, Pauline Collins,; and one daughter-in-law, Debbie Morgan.
Memorials may be given top the Driftwood Christian Church Scholarship Fund through the funeral home.
