Heather Janelle Holt was born on March 3, 1986, in Edmond, Oklahoma, and passed away March 29, 2023 ,after a short illness at Integris SW Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
She was adopted into her loving family a week after she was born by J.L. Holt and Lynetta Cressler. Four years later on her birthday, Heather's baby sister, Tiffany, was adopted into the family, and she loved her new baby sister dearly. She attended Skiatook Elementary School until third grade, Burlington Public Schools, and then transferred to Alva Schools where she excelled at softball. She also loved showing her lambs. She graduated from Alva High School in 2004 and then attended NWOSU in Alva for two years. Heather accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized as a young child at First Baptist Church in Skiatook, Oklahoma, and reaffirmed her faith her freshman year of high school at Falls Creek. During high school and college she worked at Wharton Funeral Chapel in Alva as an apprentice to Bob Wharton. Heather lived in Enid for a while before settling in Oklahoma City. While living in Oklahoma City, she worked at an optical wholesale store where she excelled at all different stages of eyeglasses production.
Heather was very smart and a jack of all trades. She was always taking care of someone else, especially her nephews and her friends' children. She would have given the shirt off her back for anyone. Heather was most proud of her baby sister and her nephews Bentley, Braydyn and Brooks.
Heather was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, J.C. and Mildred Holt; maternal grandparents, Lynn and Winona Puffinbarger; and uncle Randy Doak.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather Lynetta and Ross Cressler of Cherokee; her father and stepmother, J.L. and Ronda Holt of Skiatook; her sister, Tiffany Holt with nephews Bentley, Braydyn, and Brooks of Alva; aunt, Loretta Doak; uncle, Tommy and aunt, Angela Puffinbarger; cousins, Cody Puffinbarger, Joni and Eric Inskeep; and many other family members and countless friends.
Services for Heather were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2023, in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel with Pastor John Clapp officiating. Burial followed at 2:30 p.m. at Byron-Amorita Cemetery.
