Wayne Sluder Guffy Sr. was born on October 30, 1922, at the family farm home in the Fish Hatchery community to James and Jessie Sluder Guffy. He died on April 11, 2016, at 93 years of age in Alva after an extended illness.

Wayne married Lois Louella Caywood on November 22, 1947, at Van Buren, Arkansas.

He is survived by seven sons, five daughters, over 100 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service for Wayne will be at Driftwood Christian Church on Friday, April 15, 2016, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Byron-Amorita Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc. of Cherokee. Viewing will be Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials may be given to Amy D Guffy and Danny D Guffy Scholarship Fund through the funeral home.
