Byron & Amorita Cemetery


ENID - The funeral for Peggy Dorine Cutright, 85, of Byron, will be 2 p.m. today, Feb. 10, 2010, at Goodwin Funeral Home Chapel, Cherokee. Robert Kirkpatrick will officiate. Burial will be in Byron & Amorita Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to service time today at the funeral home.

She was born Dec. 29, 1924, in Waldron, Kan., to Carter "Bill" Thurston and Dora Jones and died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010.

She lived her life in the Waldron and Byron communities.

Following graduation from Spring High School, Spring Township, Kan., she attended Northwestern Oklahoma State College, Alva, where she received her teaching certificate.

She taught school for eight years.

She married Joe W. Cutright Sept. 9, 1950. He died Oct. 30, 2003.

Surviving are her children, Peggy of Apollo Beach, Fla., Betsy Burks of Houston and John of Amorita; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Joe, she was preceded in death by eight siblings.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Byron/Amorita Fire Department or the charity of donor's choice.
