June 18, 1937 - September 25, 2020

A Celebration of Life for Lavada June Bennett, age 83, of Enid, will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, with Reverend Tim Taylor and Reverend Shane Bennett to officiate. Graveside services at Byron-Amorita Cemetery will be at 2:00 p.m., with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Lavada was born June 18, 1937, in Byron, Oklahoma, to Samuel and May (Walton) Daniels and passed away Friday, September 25, 2020, in Enid.

She attended Byron Oklahoma Public Schools and Hazelton High School in Hazelton, Kansas, where she played basketball throughout her high school years. After graduating high school, she lived for a short time in Cherokee, Oklahoma, and worked for a local attorney there. She married Floyd Eugene Bennett on August 3, 1956, in the Cherokee Church of Christ after he returned from the military. They made their home on a farm outside of Manchester, Oklahoma, before moving to Enid for Floyd to attend business college. While in Enid, she was employed at Enid-2-Way and involved in several civic organizations. She was the first Sr. Regent at the Moose Lodge in Enid. They moved to Hennessey in the summer of 1977, and she and Floyd both worked at Choate Ford and were members of the Lions and Lioness Clubs and the First Christian Church. She was a member of Davis Park Christian Church and Oakwood Christian Church in Enid, where she volunteered in the office.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd Bennett; two brothers, Bill Daniels and Jim White; a sister, Pat Case; sister-in-law, Dolly Daniels; brother-in-law Wes Sallee. She is survived by three children, Julie Bennett-McMican and husband Mike, of Oklahoma City; Linda Brezina and husband Larry, of Bison, Ok; Gene Bennett and wife Tracy, of Davis, Ok; five grandchildren, Brent Brezina and wife Amy, of Oklahoma City; Cristy Southards and husband David, of Enid; Jamey Click and husband Matt, of El Dorado, KS; Shane Bennett and wife Kelsey, of Davis, OK; Emily Steen and husband Justin, of Enid; three step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

Memorial contributions in Lavada's name may be made to Hospice Circle of Love, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
