Mary Virginia Belcher Anderson
The funeral for Mary Virginia Anderson, age 89, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Susan Southall officiating. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. in Auburn Cemetery, west of Cherokee.

She was born to Bonnie and Hettie (Root) Belcher on February 5, 1922, on the family farm west of Cherokee and died Saturday, September 10, 2011, at the Sterling House in Enid.

Mary grew up on the farm with her eight siblings and enjoyed all the memories from the farm. She graduated from Lambert School and then worked at REA in Cherokee, where she met Wally. On August 17, 1956, she married Wallace "Wally" Anderson, and they resided in Enid, where Mary was a homemaker. She participated in Gamma Study Club and was an avid bridge player. Mary was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Mary is survived by her son, Scott Anderson and wife Amanda of Enid; two grandsons, Ethan and Aaron Anderson; sisters Glenda Ream of Enid, Leora Bennett of California and Fairy Oakley of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Wally, son Rex, two brothers and three sisters.
