Apostolic Cemetery


A graveside service for Harry Buford Meyer, 93, formerly of Alva, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Apostolic Christian Cemetery near Burlington. The Rev. Ron Allenbaugh will officiate. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home, Alva.

He was born Aug. 2, 1914, to Alvin Alfred and Anna Ramseyer Meyer and died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Integris Bass Baptist Hospital, Enid.

He was raised northeast of Burlington and graduated from Burlington High School. He worked in the wheat harvest, sometimes following crews north. He also worked in his brother’s drugstore.

Surviving are five sisters, Mildred Reber of Viejo, Calif., Marie Cook of Denver, Helen Clothie of Harrison, Ark., and Corrine Betty and Maxine Schrock, both of Kiowa, Kan.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
