November 11, 1920 - December 28, 2011

Neola Beatrice Shobe Reihm of Aline was born November 11, 1920, at the home of her parents, Luther Avril Shobe and Letha Bell (Mott) Shobe. She passed from this life on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at age 91.

Neola was raised on a farm west of Aline and attended rural school until eighth grade and high school in Dacoma. She met Lloyd Monroe Reihm, who was from the same area, and they were married December 31, 1938. They lived nine miles west, three miles south and 3?4 of a mile west of Aline in the Valley Green school district. They operated a farm, custom-harvested and had a cattle-buying operation. They moved to Aline in 1966.

Neola was a housewife in the truest sense of the word. Everything in her home was clean and well organized. Her family always had clean clothes and food on the table. Over the years, she became well-known for her cooking skills and was willing to share her talents with anyone who wanted to learn.

After moving to Aline, she owned the Dutch Cup café in Cleo Springs. This job gave her the opportunity to share and increase her cooking skills. For the past several years, she made two salads each month for the Aline Chamber meetings. Within the family, she is best-known for her homemade noodles and made her last batch when she was 90.

She had a great love for cats, shown by adopting and feeding neighborhood cats, and she especially enjoyed her indoor cat Elvira. She attended and supported Aline United Methodist Church.

Since her husband's death in 1997, she lived alone and cared for her home until the past two years, when she had wonderful caregivers help her with daily activities. She also shared her cooking and cleaning skills with them.

On November 30, 2011, she fell and broke her hip and had a hip replacement. She told all her family, friends and caregivers she was ready to rest now, and quietly closed her eyes for the last time while staying at Greenbrier Village in Enid.

Preceding her passing were her parents, her husband, an infant sister, her sister, Glenda Mae Perkins, and her brother, Junior Luther Shobe.

She leaves here on earth her sons, Merlin Lloyd Reihm and wife, Kaye, of Aline, Verlin Monroe Reihm and wife, Nan, of Guthrie; grandaughters, Sheri Lahr and husband, Troy, of Alva, Jennifer Mahieu and husband, Mitch, of Carmen, Sheilah Carey and husband, Jeff, of Fairview, Jessica Cantwell and husband, Kyle, of Ponca City; grandsons, Steven Reihm and wife, Misty, of Cleo Springs, Eric Reihm and wife, Laura, of St. Louis, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Garret Lahr, Paige and Tanner Reihm, Hunter and Lexie Reihm, Logan Bays and Grady Mahieu, Emily and Allison Stabile; also nieces, nephews and extended family. Her devoted caregivers were Bernice Nichols, Lanita Killian, Jenny Corkery, Ada Carter and Opaleta Blalock. Other people Neola wished to be remembered were Jaci Thomas, Edith Jones, Louise Goodno, Stella Hamen, Sandra Goss and Heather Reihm.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Aline United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Rachel Parrott. Burial will be at Aline Star Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc. of Helena. Memories may be shared with the family at www.lanman memorials.com. Viewing at the funeral home in Helena will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday.

Memorials may be given to Aline United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
