Aline – Services for Elva Lorine Martin, 64, will be at 2:30 PM Wednesday in the Aline United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Crumley as the officiating minister. Mrs. Martin will be buried in the Aline Star Cemetery.
The Kenny Lanman Funeral Home of Helena is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Martin died Monday in an Enid hospital after a long illness. She was born September 18, 1915, at Alva and attended schools there until 1931 when she moved with her parents to Aline, where she graduated from high school in 1933.
She attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University and later taught at Ruby and Square Cedar Schools.
She and Clifford Martin were married June 4, 1939, at Aline.
Mrs. Martin was a member of the Aline United Methodist Church where she served as pianist as long as her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford in 1974, her father in 1964 and a grandson.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Neilan (Marilyn) Dietz of Cleo Springs and Mrs. Jerry (Myra) Turner, Anthony, Kansas; a son, Bruce Martin, Aline; her mother, Mrs. Mary Maddox of Aline; two sisters, Mrs. Dean (Marjorie) Schenbeck of Lebanon, Oregon, Mrs. Merrill (Winona) Schnitzer, Bartlesville; a brother, Myron Maddox, Oklahoma City and six grandchildren.
The body will lie in state in the church for an hour before service time and the casket will not be opened afterward.
Contributions in Mrs. Martin's memory may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Cancer Fund or to the Aline United Methodist Church.
The family will be at the Elva Martin residence.
