Barbara went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010. She was born in Oklahoma City on Jan. 9, 1942, to William (Bill) and Suely Spangler Shields, later known as Shirley Stoddard.

On July 26, 1957, she married Ronald Fowler in Hobart. Together they had three children, Veronica, Frankie and Julie. They enjoyed vacations to Colorado, Mexico, Arizona and Missouri and large family gatherings and celebrations.

In 1976, she married Bob Hendrick, and in 1977, she gave birth of Bucky Hendrick.

She experienced life as a minister, real estate agent, restaurateur and private nursing caregiver.

Many will remember her as vivacious and stunningly beautiful as a young Barbara and a lover of laughter with an exuberance and passion for serving others as a mature Barbara. She continued having fun by playing practical jokes on her husband and falling for practical jokes on herself, such as the "snipe hunt," and she loved to dance. She was dearly loved, extremely colorful and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by daughters, Veronica Barritt and husband John of Oklahoma City and Julie Fowler of Meridianville, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Monica and Mandy Dees, Taylor Butler , Nikki Choate, Coley, Chelsea and Brandon Barritt; two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Natalie; sisters, Betty Winters and husband Ken of Skellytown, Texas, Pat McDaniel of Edmond and Ida Larson and husband Lawry of Green Bay, Wis.; brother, Frank Lee of Enid; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding Barbara in death include her daughter, Frankie Fowler Dees; her son, Bucky Hendrick; her mother, father and inherited father, Frank M. Stoddard; her sister, Frances Longan; and her brothers, Ronald and Donald Shields.
