She married Chester Wood on July 30, 1938 and to their union 3 children were born; Betty, Wendell and Linda. She loved to listen to gospel music and going to church. Lillian loved spending time with her family. She was of the holiness faith and had been a Christian for many years. Lillian attended church at the Westville Assembly of God as long as her health permitted.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband: Chester, parents: James and Melinda Hern, brothers: Dennis, Cecil, Buford and Wayne, nephew: J.V. Kirk (that was like a brother and that her parents raised), sister: Neoma Terrell and 2 infant sisters, son-in-law: Waymond Self, sisters-in-law: Maudie Hern and Wanda Maggard.
She is survived by a very loving family that includes her 3 children: Betty Self, Wendell Wood and wife Sharon, Linda Scott and husband John Wayne, 4 grandchildren: Wendy Hampton, Darin Wood, Jeff Scott and Johnny Scott, 8 great grandchildren: Keina Reed, Krysti Teague, Kenzie Crites, Amber Sidebottom, Chad Wood, Johnathon Scott, Jarred Scott, Jordan Scott, 4 great-great grandchildren: Rayleigh Reed, Kase Reed, Jaxson Sidebottom, Mackenna Crites, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive her.
Funeral services held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Roberts & Hart Chapel, Westville, Oklahoma with Bro. Mike Hayes officiating.
Interment followed at Westville
City Cemetery, Westville, OK.
