He married Joyce Ann Davis in Reno Nevada on February 10, 1973 and they were blessed with over 40 years together. Before bringing his family to Oklahoma in 1975, he worked for Culligan and as a volunteer fireman. After they arrived in the Westville, Oklahoma area, he found work with Peterson Farms for 3 years, then for 13 years with the City of Westville. Eugene also worked at Wal*Mart until he retired. He had 15 grandkids and 15 great grandkids that he loved dearly. He loved his children and was very proud of everything they accomplished. He will be deeply missed by his wife and love of his life, Joyce.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Jerry, Lyle and Leroy, and sister: Denise Kinter.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife: Joyce Ann Thomas of Westville, OK, children: Ricky Thomas and wife Ruby of West Siloam Springs, OK, Bonnie Thomas of Tahlequah, OK, Leanna Bowker of Tulsa, OK, Rose Marie Points Osterby and husband Don of Inola, OK, Darrell Howard and wife Vicky of Westville, Carol Glasscock and husband Ray of Springfield, MO, Christina McMinn of Tulsa, Vernon Thomas and wife Monica of Chewey, OK, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, brother: Edward Thomas of Weatherford, N.J. Eugene is also survived by a host of extended relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held at 10 am on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Westville City Cemetery, Westville, OK with John Blackwell officiating.
Interment followed under the direction of Roberts & Hart
Funeral Home, Westville, OK.
