Willard Dean Meridith son of Albert Franklin and Josie Lovene (VanBibber) Meridith was born July 24, 1931 in Greeley, Colorado and departed this life on May 18, 2012 in Westville, Oklahoma at the age 80 years, 9 months and 24 days.
He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather to his family. He worked as a mechanic for many years and owned and operated Meridith’s Garage and wrecker service. He loved fishing and playing poker.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of over 60 years; Gracie Meridith, 1 daughter; Linda Jo Meridith, 1 brother; Chester Meridith and 1 sister; Nona Mae Loop.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his 5 children; Geneva Mains and husband Donald of Wichita, KS, David Meridith and wife Caron of Stilwell, OK, Jackie Fain and husband Tommy of Watts, OK, Richard Meridith and Becky Meridith both of Westville, OK. 10 grandchildren; Mista Pike, Christopher Hall, Bryan Meridith, Jeremy Meridith, Gerald Fain, Amy Hoping, Cody Meridith, Amber Meridith, Gracelin Meridith and William Meridith. 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 1 brother; Lester Meridith and wife Phoebe of Piney, OK, 2 sisters; Delphia Rogers of Beaverton, OR and Lorene Faddis of Piney, OK, 2 sisters in law; Evelyn Gilbert and husband Joel of Fayetteville, AR and Barbara Heatwole of Augusta, KS, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held at 11 am on Monday, May 21, 2012 at Westville City Cemetery with Rev. Joe White officiating.
