Sharon McMurtrey, daughter of Ed and Eva Mae (Beard) Maggard, was born on February 3, 1946 in Westville, Oklahoma and passed from this life on Thursday, August 24, 2017 in Springdale, Arkansas at 71 years of age.
She loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family. Sharon always had a smile and was friendly to everyone she met. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Her favorite pastimes were going to ball games and taking summer trips to the mountains. Sharon helped Garlan support their family by working at and retiring from Baldor, where she made many friends over the years. She attended church as long as her health permitted. Sharon enjoyed visiting with her church family. Her love for her grandchildren was obvious for all to see.
Sharon touched many lives during her time and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Garlan McMurtrey, parents: Ed and Eva Mae Maggard, niece:Michelle Cox and nephew: Scott Goldman.
Sharon is survived by her children: Danny McMurtrey and wife DeLana of Westville, Wesley McMurtrey and wife Mendy of Bixby, Beth Price and husband Kurt Price of Siloam Springs, Ark., grandchildren: Gavin White of Tulsa, Kyle McMurtrey of Bixby, Isaac Price, Grace Price and Jude Price of Siloam Springs, Ark., sisters: Phyllis Page of Sperry, Letha Graham and husband Keith of Dallas, Ga., Linnie Campbell of Tahlequah, brother: Winford Maggard and wife Janice of Westville, several cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 28, 2017 at Roberts & Hart Chapel, Westville, Oklahoma with Bishop Keith Graham officiating. Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery, Westville
