Walter Franklin Kindle, son of William Riley and Mable (Galyean) Kindle, was born on August 17, 1924 in Proctor, Oklahoma and went home to be with his Lord on Monday, August 8, 2011 in Springdale, Arkansas at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 22 days.
Walter met the love of his life, Myrtle Guthrie, at the Hern School during a revival in 1940. They later met again and were married on December 31, 1944 in Westville, OK.
Walter worked at several jobs during his life, including Akin Lumber Co., Stanfill’s Feed Mill, raising beans, tomatoes, chickens, turkeys and beef cattle. He was also a dairy farmer for over 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Myrtle Kindle, parents: William and Mable Kindle, daughter: Carol Jean, sisters: Zella Fowler, Carolyn Neale, brothers: Erval Kindle and Junior Kindle.
He leaves behind a loving family and many wonderful friends. Surviving Walter are his daughters: Dorothy Thompson and husband Paul of Eureka Springs, AR, Barbara Bradford and husband Wayne of Westville, son: Jerry Kindle of Westville, grandchildren: Paula Williams and husband Mylan of Pittsburg, KS, Tim Thompson and wife Karla of West Fork, AR, Greg Thompson and wife Renee of Stilwell, Rebecca Fulcher and husband David of Hickory, KY, Larissa Wood and husband Nathan of Bristow, OK, Monte Bradford and wife Rebecca of Westville, Ok, Gayla Bohn and husband Cody of Fouke, AR, Kindle Remington and husband Daniel of Norman, OK, Clay Kindle of Stilwell, Tara Asbill and husband Jason of Stilwell, 20 great grandchildren, sister: Juanita Guthrie of Fresno, CA, Patsy Murray of Lebanon, OR, Billie Howard of Proctor, OK, Betty Rhine of Milwaukie, OR, brothers: Elmo Kindle of Claremore, OK and Jimmy Kindle of Tulsa, OK.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Faith Holiness Church with Bro. Bill Wakley, Bro. G. W. Birdsong and Bro. Larry Kindle officiating. Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
