Myrtle Mellie Kindle, daughter of George Benjamin and Josie (Sherfield) Guthrie, was born on August 2, 1928 in Boxley, Arkansas and went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 26, 2011 in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 24 days.
Myrtle met the love of her life, Walter Kindle, and was married on December 31, 1944 in Westville, OK. She devoted her life to him and their family. She was an excellent cook and all the family enjoyed eating many special meals at their home.
Myrtle was saved for over 60 years and faithfully attended Faith Holiness Church. She enjoyed singing special gospel songs which was a blessing for all to hear.
She was preceded in death by her parents: George and Josie Guthrie, daughter: Carol Jean, sisters: Stella Bird, Ella Mae Guthrie, brothers: Vic Guthrie, Homer Guthrie, Ralph Guthrie, Raymond Guthrie, Carl Guthrie and Dean Guthrie.
She leaves behind a loving family and many wonderful friends. Surviving Myrtle is her husband: Walter Kindle of the home in Westville, daughters: Dorothy Thompson and husband Paul of Eureka Springs, AR, Barbara Bradford and husband Wayne of Westville, son: Jerry Kindle of Westville, grandchildren: Paula Williams and husband Mylan of Pittsburg, KS, Tim Thompson and wife Karla of West Fork, AR, Greg Thompson and wife Renee of Stilwell, Rebecca Fulcher and husband David of Hickory, KY, Larissa Wood and husband Nathan of Bristow, OK, Monte Bradford and wife Rebecca of Westville, Ok, Gayle Bohn and husband Cody of Fouke, AR, Kindle Remington and husband Daniel of Norman, OK, Clay Kindle of Stilwell, Tara Asbill and husband Jason of Stilwell, 20 great grandchildren, sister: Frankie Williams and husband Forrest of Westville.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Faith Holiness Church, Westville, OK with Bill Wakley, G.W. Birdsong and Larry Kindel officiating. Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
