Carl Jackson, son of Thomas Ulysses and Pansy Inez (Gregg) Jackson, was born on April 9, 1930 in Fayetteville, Arkansas and departed this life on Friday, March 9, 2018 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at 87 years of age.
Bill attended school in Summers, Arkansas. He married Elva Dean Chance and they were blessed with over 66 years together before her passing.
Bill didn’t allow his loss of sight to prevent him from enjoying woodworking and exhibiting his creations at local craft fairs.
Amateur Radio License in 1969 and then obtained the Amateur Extra License which conveys all available U.S. Amateur Radio operating privileges on all bands and all modes. Earning the license is difficult. This allowed him to enjoy a fellowship with other Ham Radio Operators across the country.
With the help of Elva, Bill owned and operated a livestock, poultry and orchard farm. He always enjoyed a good conversation and filling the air with a happy whistle.
AB5LY became a silent key on March 9, 2018.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife: Elva Jackson, parents: Tom and Pansy Jackson, brother: Al Howard Jackson, sister: Dorothy Jackson and granddaughter: Denise Henington.
He leaves behind a loving family that includes his children: Patricia Henington and husband Jim of West Fork, Ark., Henry Jackson of Tahlequah, grandchildren: Wendy Gasca and husband Ben of College Station, Texas, Kristie Dryman and husband Rodney of West Fork, Ark., Jeff Stout of Missouri, Greg Jackson and wife Jessica, Katie Jackson, great-grandsons: Jet and Josiah Jackson, all of Tahlequah.
Many other relatives and friends also survive him.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Westville City Cemetery, Westville, with Chaplain Terry Wofford officiating.
Interment
followed under the direction of Roberts & Hart
