Grady Buck Hill, son of Henry Buchanah and Ollie Victoria (Battenfield) Hill was born October 19, 1932 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on January 21, 2012 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 2 days.
He married Norma Gordon on June 10, 1953 and to this union 6 children were born; Bruce, Sheryl, Donna, Michael, Dan and Susan. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Wa with the 65th Engineer Combat Battalion earning the United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He also owned and operated Hill’s Superette for 12 ½ years. He had a great love for his cattle and baling hay but his greatest love was spending time with family.
Grady was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son; Michael Hill, brothers; Orville Hill, Alvin Hill, 3 sisters; Ruby Butler, Betty Barnes, Pauline Gordon.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife of over 58 years; Norma Hill of the home in Westville, Ok, 5 children; Bruce Hill and wife Robin of Westville, OK, Sheryl Hill of Kansas, OK, Donna Hill of Odessa, TX, Dan Hill and wife Faye, Susan Sanders and husband Mike all of Westville, OK, 10 grandchildren; James Hill, Becky Couffer, Scott Williams, Matt Williams, Ashley Smith, Lauren Hill, Austin Hill, Jalen Hill, Brianna Wilson, Taylor Wilson, Brent Sanders, Tyler Sanders and Ashley Sanders. 10 great grandchildren; 1 sister; Irene Hannah of Claremore, OK, 1 brother; Harvey Hill of Stilwell, OK, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held, Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Roberts Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jim Beavers and Dustin Denton officiating. Interment followed in the Westville City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
