Vernon Elbert Butler, son of Jesse A. and Avis (Murrie) Butler, was born on September 5, 1932 in Cincinnati, Arkansas and passed from this life on Thursday, October 18, 2018 in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma at 86 years of age.
He was a farmer and rancher by trade. Vernon and Ann Elizabeth built a life around their home and children.
Vernon loved his family and cherished time spent with them. He was a caring and considerate father, grandfather, friend and neighbor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Avis Butler, his beloved wife, Ann Elizabeth Butler, brothers, Gene Butler and Norman Butler and sisters Adean Hensley and Lora Faye Perkins.
A loving and devoted family survives him. They include his children, Gary L Butler and wife Lisa of Westville, Helen Iiams of Westville, Brenda Butler Youngman of Broken Arrow, grandchildren, Callie Lifsics and husband Adam of Portland, Ore., Daniel Butler and wife Rachel of Rogers, Ark., Brandon Butler of Westville, Josh Butler and wife Lacy of Westville, Scott Iiams and wife Lyndsie of Summerville, S.C., Clayton Iiams of Summerville, S.C., Tristan Holt and wife Lauren of Tulsa, Roderick Dylan Youngman and Alyson Youngman of Broken Arrow, nine great-grandchildren, brothers, Coy Butler of Krum, Texas and Gary D Butler of Westville, and a sister, Etta Frazelle of Rogers, Ark.
Vernon also leaves behind many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Roberts & Hart Chapel, Westville, with Keith Means officiating. Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery.
