George Franklyn “Buster” Allcorn, son of Mannford and Pauline (Lee) Allcorn, was born on February 14, 1932 in Haskell, Texas and departed this life on Friday, September 16, 2011 on his farm in Westville, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 2 days.
Buster served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a concrete finisher by trade and laid the foundation for many, many businesses, schools and homes all over Adair County and Northwest Arkansas. He was also a cattle farmer for most of his life. Buster was a Christian man who loved spending time with his family and watching his grandkids grow up. He enjoyed caring for his cattle and his farm and was always working on a project or two. Buster was a friend to many in the Westville community and a strong supporter of Westville schools.
Preceding him in death are his parents: Mannford and Gladys Allcorn, his wife: Lorna (Hansen) Allcorn and sisters: Billie Jo Allen and Patsy Burke.
Buster is survived by his children: Susan Doyle and husband Gene of Stilwell, OK, Bill Allcorn and wife Teresa of Colcord, OK, Clay Allcorn and wife Lori of Broken Arrow, OK, Amy Kaiser and husband Matt of Westville, OK, Matt Allcorn of Spiro, OK, He is also survived by one sister: Nettie Ruth Rodriguez of Keller, TX and six grandchildren: Jesse Doyle and wife Erin of Ames, IA, Tyler Doyle of Tulsa, OK, Haydn and River Kaiser of Westville, Jenny and Joshua Allcorn of Broken Arrow.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been set up at Westville High School in Buster Allcorn’s name. Scholarship donations may be made to the WHS Scholarship Program at PO Box 410, Westville, OK. 74965
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Roberts Chapel, Westville, OK with Bro. George McFerrin and Dan Collins officiating. Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
