Funeral services for John Hubert "Moxey" TAREPEN were held July 21, 1999 at the Hart Memorial Chapel with Rev. Sanders MCLEMORE officiating. Interment followed at the Tyler Springs Cemetery.
Mr. TAREPEN was born February 18, 1926 in Stilwell, Okla., to Gabriel and Lula SHELL TAREPEN. He departed this life July 17, 1999 in Talihina, Okla., at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 27 days.
He served in the United States Army and received the Theatre Ribbon Bronze Star, World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was very proud of his Army awards. Moxey was also a construction worker and a member of the Fourkiller Baptist Church. He loved and played baseball as a young man.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Andrew, Richard and Steve TAREPEN; one infant sister; one grandson, Jason GRIGSBY and one son-in-law, Roy GRIGSBY.
Moxey is survived by two daughters, Dorothy of Okla., and Cora of Calif.; two sons, John and James, both of Okla.; two grandsons, Nick of Okla., and Joe of Calif.; and one nephew, William of Okla.
